It isn't the Same

HELAINE WILLIAMS

Helaine is a native of the Zydeco and Creole culture of Southwestern Louisiana. As a child Helaine's earliest Musical influences came from her Father who listened and sang to the melodic songs of artists like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.

In 1990, while living in Oakland, California, Helaine discovered her singing abilities after enrolling in voice and choir classes at Laney College. Over the years, Helaine continued her training in various church choirs and began writing songs.

Helaine recently recorded her first single, "It  Isn't the Same" under the Louisiana Boogie label. Helaine's music combines a smooth R&B contemporary sound accentuated by her Southern roots.
